Huawei Unveils the World’s First Commercial Triple Foldable Smartphone at MWC 2025
This year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC 2025) commenced on March 3 in Barcelona, Spain. During the event, Huawei is presenting its innovative tri-fold smartphone, the HUAWEI Mate XT | ULTIMATE DESIGN, alongside a range of other premium, stylish, and technologically advanced flagship products. Participants can explore dedicated experience zones focused on foldable devices, health and fitness, photography, and creative tools, demonstrating how Huawei integrates cutting-edge technologies into everyday life.
There is considerable anticipation surrounding the Mate XT, recognized as the world’s first commercial tri-fold smartphone. It incorporates proprietary hinge and screen technologies that enable the device to fold inward on one hinge and outward on another. Additionally, it features a camera with a 10-size adjustable physical aperture. Within the Huawei Consumer BG booth, a large display utilizing naked-eye 3D effects further highlights the advantages of this distinctive tri-fold phone. Also featured at the Consumer BG booth are the HUAWEI Mate 70 series smartphones, which are equipped with an Ultra Chroma Camera that offers exceptional color accuracy. The Intelligence Scenario experience zone allows attendees to engage with features such as Multi exposure and AI retouching. The Mate X6 section adopts a unique approach by showcasing some of the innovative materials used in the phone, inviting attendees to cut ice with a sheet of graphene to experience the remarkable thermal conductivity of the material firsthand.
