Sunita Williams has returned home after an impressive 286 days in space, completing 4,577 orbits around Earth

The return of Sunita Williams: Following a challenging re-entry through Earth’s atmosphere, the Crew-9 mission astronauts successfully splashed down in the Atlantic Ocean, signaling the end of their journey.

NASA astronaut Sunita Williams has made a safe return after spending 286 days in space, traveling a distance of 195.2 million kilometers.

During her mission, she and fellow astronaut Butch Wilmore spent eight days in orbit, but Williams faced an extended nine-month stay in microgravity due to mechanical issues with the Starliner spacecraft that took her to space.
