Today’s stock market: The main cause of the Sensex and Nifty’s declines; what the March series’ F&O rollovers indicate

At 73,917.17, the BSE Sensex was down 695.26 points, or 0.93 percent. At 22,317.55, the NSE Nifty dropped 227.50 points, or 1.01 percent.

The March futures and options (F&O) series began weakly for benchmark stock indices Sensex and Nifty after US President Donald Trump declared that tariffs on Canada and Mexico would start on March 4. Additionally, the 10% uniform tax imposed on Chinese goods has been doubled. Investor morale was further harmed by Nvidia’s overnight 8.5% decline, which sent the Nasdaq plummeting.
